Comments and Mentions
Learn how to use EmailShepherd’s collaboration features to streamline your email creation process.
Getting Started with Comments
Section titled “Getting Started with Comments”Navigate to the Collaboration tab to view and manage all comments on your email template. The sidebar displays all comment threads, making it easy to track feedback and discussions.

Adding Comments
Section titled “Adding Comments”Dropping pins on the canvas
Section titled “Dropping pins on the canvas”If you’d like to pin a comment to a particular position on the canvas:
- Click anywhere on the canvas where you want to leave feedback
- A pin will appear and prompt you to write your comment
- Type your comment and save
Visual feedback: Hover over a comment in the sidebar to highlight its corresponding pin on the canvas, or hover over a pin to highlight the comment. This makes it easy to see what each comment refers to.

Sidebar Comments
Section titled “Sidebar Comments”You can also add comments directly in the sidebar.
- Enter your comment in the input field at the bottom of the sidebar
- Click on the Comment button
Comment Threads
Section titled “Comment Threads”Each new comment starts its own thread. Team members can reply to any comment to keep discussions organized.
To reply to a comment:
- Click on an existing comment thread
- Type your reply in the response field
- Press Enter or click Send
Replies are visually grouped under the original comment, making it clear which thread each reply belongs to.

Mentions
Section titled “Mentions”Tag specific team members to notify them about a comment or request their input.
To mention a colleague:
- Type
@in any comment or reply field - Select a team member from the dropdown that appears
- They’ll receive a notification about the mention

Notifications
Section titled “Notifications”You’ll be notified when:
- Someone mentions you with
@ - Someone replies to a comment thread you’re participating in
All participants in a thread receive notifications when new replies are added, keeping everyone in the loop.
Resolving Comments
Section titled “Resolving Comments”Mark comment threads as resolved once feedback has been addressed or discussions are complete.
To resolve a thread:
- Click the “Resolve” button on any comment thread
What happens when you resolve:
- The pin is removed from the canvas to reduce visual clutter
- The thread is hidden from the default view
- Resolved threads can still be viewed by filtering
To unresolve a thread:
- Find the resolved thread and click “Unresolve”
- The pin will reappear on the canvas if it was a pinned comment
