Airship Connector Setup Guide

In this article, you will learn how to set up the Airship connector and export an email from EmailShepherd to Airship.

First, retrieve your Airship OAuth credentials.

Log in to your Airship account, navigate to the relevant project, and go to the Settings page.

Under Project settings, click the OAuth link.

Click on the Create Credentials button.

In the form, enter a name and optionally a description.

Ensure the Allow Basic Auth option is checked—this is required for the connector to work.

Click Next to continue.

Next, select the permissions to grant the connector.

EmailShepherd requires the Templates permission, so check the Templates checkbox. For best security practice, we recommend not selecting any other permissions.

You’ll then see a series of tokens.

Note the Client ID and Client Secret—you’ll need these when setting up the connector in EmailShepherd.

Airship Credentials

You’ll also need your project’s App Key, which you can find in the Project settings section of the Airship dashboard.

Airship Project Details

With all the required information, you can now set up the connector in EmailShepherd.

In EmailShepherd, navigate to the Connectors page and click Add Connector.

Give your connector a descriptive name and select Airship as the connector type.

Select the region your Airship account is in.

Enter the App Key, Client ID, and Client Secret you noted earlier.

Once you’ve entered these details, click Save.

That’s it! You’re now ready to export an email to Airship.

We recommend creating a Dynamic Content Profile to set up your personalization tags and conditionals for Airship.

Airship supports dynamic content using Handlebars syntax.

  1. In the email editor, click on the Export button in the top-right corner. This will take you to the Export page.
