Build Agents

Build Agents are AI agents that build and edit emails for you. Build Agents enable you to build emails via chat in natural language, or as a background agent fully autonomously.

Build Agents work within the constraints of your Email Design System, dynamic content and other guardrails, ensuring that every email they build is on brand.

What a Build Agent can do

Build Agents come with all the capabilities they need to be able to build emails for you out of the box:

• Interpret and understand your Email Design System and its components
• Search your Personalization Tags & Conditionals to build dynamic, personalized emails
• Search your image library for relevant images
• Generate new images
• Browse the web to pull in information from external sources

Connecting more capabilities

You can give your agents even more to work with by setting up AI connectors. AI connectors use the MCP protocol to talk another tool you use, so it can act on what it finds there. For example, with the right connector you could prompt:

Pull my campaign brief from Asana and build an email based on it.

Skills

Skills are reusable sets of instructions you write to teach an agent how to do a particular task, such as writing copy in your brand voice or building a particular type of email. Think of them as a way to store prompts so that you don’t have to write the same instructions out every time. See Agent Skills for how they work.

Creating a Build Agent

Go to Agents in the sidebar, open the Build Agents tab, and click Create new Build Agent.

You’ll set:

• Name: a name for your own reference. It isn’t shown to the AI.
• Instructions (optional): a short, specific note for the AI. Keep this brief. If your brand has longer context or rules, put those in a skill instead of here.
• Skills: Assign any skills you have that the agent should have access to.

Once it’s created, the agent is ready to use in the chat in the email editor.
